Following her lead role in the popular movie, Jenifa, star actress, Funke Akindele's life as a celebrity status has skyrocketed.

She admits she struggles to cope when she gets spotted by fans in the streets and sometimes wishes she could live a normal life. Nevertheless, she's not in denial about the fact that it has changed everything for her, considering where she's coming from.

All of a sudden, Funke who got her first shot in TV appearance on the set of American-born TV director, Lord Weaver's, “I need to know " claimed she never became an actress to be famous or rich, but an attempt to fulfil her childhood fantasy, "I'm acting because I've always loved to act as a child,” she said.

Kelly Handsome Begs Movie Producer For Role

I actually don’t know what to call this but maybe I should just let you readers to decide. It is about former Kennis music artiste Kelly Handsome. The guy seem to be trying his hands in other ventures since what brought him to limelight, music is no longer paying. The maga don pay crooner was seen begging a popular movie producer if he will consider him in his forth coming films which will be a hit. The singer told the producer face to face that he is an all round entertainer, that there is hardly anything entertainment that he cannot do. When it was obvious the producer wasn’t listening to him he held him close to him and said he should see that will be exhibit some stunt for him now as they speak and behold our dear Kelly Rowland, o Handsome was seen displaying some acting talks and poses. The producer gave him his complimentary card and told him to get in touch with him; who knows you may do well as an actor, the producer concluded. BIG BROTHER AMPLIFIED FIRST EVICTEE IS JOSSY JOSS

The first Housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother Amplified House is Jossy. He was the Housemates that received the least number of country votes and was Evicted from the show to go home.

Danny received the second least number of votes and was sent to the Tails House.

The six housemates who were up for eviction, four were female housemates(Confidence, Vina, Weza, Vimbai) and they indeed impressed Africa so Biggie asked them back to the house while Danny(Ethiopia) and Jossy Joss were the last two housemates up for a eviction.

Genevieve Honoured in Monaco

One of Africa’s biggest film stars Genevieve Nnaji was last night Thursday, 12, 2011, presented with the award of ‘Best Breakthrough Performance’ at the annual Monaco Charity Film Festival (MCFF) held at the Hermitage Hotel, Monte Carlo.

According to her spokesperson, Genevieve, 32, was awarded the prestigious prize for her riveting role as ‘Teema’ in the 2011 Nollywood movie ‘The Mirror Boy’ which has, since its premiere, received rave reviews and several nominations and awards.

‘I’m thrilled to have received such an amazing honour from the MCFF. I put a huge amount of passion and love into every role I play so it’s wonderful to be recognized not only in my country Nigeria, but now on the international stage. I would like to thank the MCFF jury, my amazing team, family and of course my fans’, Genevieve who was not present to receive her award said in a statement

Now running in its sixth year, The Monaco Charity Film Festival is a non-profit charity event for the benefit of poor children around the world. The festival also helps new and developing filmmakers to find financing and distribution for their film.

YORUBA MOVIE STAR MOJI OLAIYA ARRESTED WITH HUBBY

Moji Olaiya, one of the popular Yoruba movie producers and the daughter of popular highlife musician, Sir Victor Olaiya was arrested at ketu alongside her hubby by policemen on the Monday 28th march for driving a spoilt ash-colored Honda car along the road. The actress’ husband pleaded with the policemen saying that the car could still be managed to their destination and they would take it to the mechanic. When our reporter tried to get the actress’ comment about the unfortunate incident, she refused to talk. The police insisted on impounding the car because it was dangerous for them and other road users.

Federal Govt gives N5million each to families of slain corps members

President Goodluck Jonathan met with families of slain youth corps members on Tuesday (10/05/2011) in Abuja at the presidential villa where he apologized to them and compensated each family with the sum of N5million. He also promised jobs to at least one member of each family.

He promised to immortalize the corps members and also look into the revitalization of the NYSC scheme. The president has already said the security of the corps members will henceforth become the responsibility of the governors in states where they are serving.

Wizkid To Release Debut Album In June

Young Nigerian pop singer Ayodeji Balogun better known as Wizkid is said to release his debut album titled ‘My Time’ in a matter of weeks.

Wizkid in such a short period has chunked out a couple songs that have become instantaneous hits. The 20 year old is fast rising in the Nigerian music scene with his locally accepted music and hot videos. Hit songs like ‘Holla at your boy’, and ‘Tease me’ are a few of his songs that testify to his hit making formula.

Wizkid just a few years ago came into the limelight when he featured on rapper M.I’s debut work ‘Talk About It’, specifically on the track ‘Fast Money Fast Cars’. Little did we know that he would then sign with Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) record label and turn into an overnight celebrity.
